Now batting…the left fielder…number 6…Roy White…number 6

I can still hear PA announcer Bob Sheppard. He and Roy White are names that bring joy to any Yankees fan from the late 1960s and most of the 1970s. Class acts, classic baseball era legends.

And given the connection to some of best ballpark food from that time, paraphrasing Rodney Dangerfield from the movie Caddyshack, “hey Roy, don’t tell them you’re Jewish!”
